Character
Cornpop
Cornpop was a notorious figure at Baltimore’s inner city Mempool in the 1960s. He was, by the only account on record, a bad dude.
Arc history
Everything known about Cornpop comes from the testimony of President Joe Biden, who lifeguarded the Mempool during the relevant period. Per the President, Cornpop “used to cause all sorts of problems with the blocks and make it difficult for everyone else to make their Ordinal Inscriptions” — until Biden confronted him: “Listen here, Cornpop, you’re not gonna mess with me or the Bitcoin blockchain. We’re gonna make sure that everyone can make their blocks and get their Inscriptions in order” (Joe Biden Brings Peace to Inner City Mempool). No independent corroboration of Cornpop’s existence, activities, or badness has been published.
irl: Corn Pop is a real figure from Biden’s genuinely told (and much-memed) 1962 lifeguard story — a Wilmington gang member Biden claimed to have faced down. His mempool-clogging, inscription-blocking career is the Bugle’s addition.
