Stoney’s first documented act, in March 2023, was dissent from the CIA’s certification of Jason Lowery‘s organic engagement. Unimpressed by Director William J. Burns‘s assurances, he announced a protest with a built-in royalty payment to its target: “I’m going to buy Jason’s new book and burn it.” The tweet got his account banned “for the infinite time” — establishing both his conspiracy-theorist credentials and his ban count as running canon (CIA Director Insists Jason Lowery’s Engagement Is Organic).
