The Fyre Wallet is a “hot-ish-cold” (also styled “ultra-hot-cold”) Bitcoin storage product launched in March 2023 by developer Luke Dash-JR in partnership with legendary entrepreneur Billy McFarland (Luke Dash-JR to Launch Bitcoin Storage Solution).

Built on C++ and Rust, “the most advanced and secure programming languages,” the wallet is per its creator “almost impossible to breach without serious personal misconduct.” Its defining cold-storage feature is seamless compatibility with any device — internet-connected computers, wifi-enabled smartphones, and tablets on the internet. It sells through the official website across a range of pricing plans.

Track record

The wallet emerged from Luke’s own loss of several hundred Bitcoin in a hot wallet hack. Its flagship testimonial, from a beta tester of ten months: “I have only lost 11% of my holdings, which is a huge improvement!”

irl: The name fuses two disasters — Billy McFarland’s Fyre Festival fraud and Luke Dashjr’s real December 2022 loss of 200+ BTC from his own storage. No such product exists; “hot-ish-cold storage” is the joke category for a cold wallet that touches the internet.
